GANG FACTS: Majority of current street gangs can trace their ideologies and beginnings to geographical locations such as Southern California, Chicago, Illinois and/or the state of New York. During formation of certain gangs. these groups were identified to recruit under strict guidelines that were based on race and socio-economic factors. As certain gangs became transient and extended their criminal enterprise throughout the United States, Race, Ethnicity, Socio-Economics and Gender were no longer a factor in recruiting new members.
